Part of Hwy 102 reopened at Stewiacke after crash

Part of Highway 102 at Stewiacke has reopened after a collision shut down the road, according to the RCMP.

Mounties said on social media at 9:25 p.m. that the highway near Exit 11 was open again.

The RCMP reported that the southbound lanes were shut down because of a crash on social media at 4:21 p.m.

They later updated the advisory to say both directions were closed in that stretch of the highway.

People in the area reported heavy traffic during the closure and said vehicles were being rerouted from Stewiacke back toward the Brookfield exit.

They also said they saw several police and fire crews responding, along with a flight helicopter overhead.

The RCMP have not released information about injuries or what led to the collision.
