Every year leading up to fall there seems to be more and more products coming out with their own “pumpkin spice” flavour. Once merely the seasonal promotion of a popular espresso-based coffee shop, the pumpkin spice craze has expanded beyond the reaches of a simple flavour.
Micro breweries everywhere have been releasing their own blend of pumpkin beer, many cafes have taken on the seasonal blend themselves, even Philadelphia released a
pumpkin spice cream cheese.
Here are a few items that may be evidence of this trend reaching a bit too far:
Dogs do enjoy pumpkin, but do they enjoy the spice? Or is that as a benefit to the humans to withstand dog breath?
How effective can this be? Is it Worth it? Or will you forever associate the scent of pumpkin spice with litter box?
Apparently this is already an existing thing, but just like chocolate dessert hummus… Why?
This list is showing us that pumpkin spice flavour isn’t restricted to edible goods. Pumpkin spice isn’t exactly a “fresh” scent but hopefully it’s not so enticing that we need a closer smell.
This one isn’t quite THAT much of a surprise as vodka companies have released some pretty interesting flavours including
dill pickle vodka,
peanut butter and jelly, and even
salmon-flavoured vodka.
On september 5th, we will see the brand DudeWipes release a product they’ve been teasing for a few years since they made a joke about it in 2019. Pumpkin spice buttwipes…. or as they’re calling it, “Dumpkin Spice”.
The jury is still out on whether any of this is necessary, but one thing is for sure. Pumpkin Spice is the official smell of the incoming Fall weather so swap out your summer wardrobe, Winter is coming.
