POLL - Have You Received Your Bread Settlement?
My phone made the oh-so-familar ‘Da-Da-Doop’ sound late last week while at the dinner table. Quickly glancing at my notifications, I uttered in disbelief to my wife across the table – “This can’t be real”.
I received an e-mail e-transfer for $49.11.
People don’t just send money to your inbox out of the blue … so my e-mail phishing radar was going off!
That was, until we decided to look into it a little bit more. We wanted to see how easy it would be to spot the cracks of this e-mail phishing scam. Luckily, after a quick review, we were thrilled to find out it was legit and we gleefully deposited $49.11 to our bank account.

If you put your name forward for the Canadian Packaged Bread Class Action Settlement, you’re going to want to keep a close eye on your e-mail over the next couple weeks.
Eligible Nova Scotians who submitted a claim on the official Canadian Bread Settlement Website (https://www.canadianbreadsettlement.ca/) before December 12th of last year have started to see their payments roll out.
Payouts range from $24.11 to $49.11, depending on whether or not you previously received a $25 card from the Loblaw Card Program.
Having added my name to the list nearly 6 months ago, I had completely forgot about the Class Action Settlement, so it was a nice surprise after I realized it was legit!
If you haven’t received your payout yet… take note that:
- Distribution of payouts began the week of May 11th
- A large amount of Canadians are impacted by this settlement, so it’ll take some time to complete
- Payments are being issued by e-Transfer or Cheque, depending on the method you selected
- Check your junk or spam folder
- E-transfers will arrive by e-mail, not text
Let us know – have you received your settlement… or did you get a chance to add your name to the list?
