Halifax Sports Broadcaster Named To Powerful Women List!

Halifax’s Kenzie Lalonde of Eastlink Community TV was named to “The 25 Most Powerful Women in Sports To Watch List” this week. The Sportsnet list was revealed this week on “International Women’s Day” and she’s in with some fine company like Marie-Philip Poulin, Sarah Nurse, Emilie Castonguay and Cammi Granato. Here’s Kenzie’s mention: Kenzie Lalonde, Broadcaster With a more-established pipeline in place for women to get into the broadcast booth, we’re also seeing more women ready to call the shots as play-by-play analysts. Lalonde is one of them. She made history in March 2021 when she became the first woman to call a televised QMJHL game on TV. Her versatility as a broadcaster was on full display in August as she called play-by-play for Group B games at the women’s worlds, and, last month, as she reported rinkside during the women’s Olympic hockey tournament.
