Halifax Thunderbirds Drop Their Home Opener

The Halifax Thunderbirds opened their season at “The Nest” on Saturday night.

After coming out strong and holding the lead for most of the game in the first three quarters, the Calgary Roughnecks stormed back to take the win 18-17, with the Thunderbirds scoring in the last second of regulation.

Newcomers to the lineup impressed the hometown crowd with Thomas Hoggarth netting four goals and Jason Knox with three.

Veteran Clarke Petterson marked 300 career points in the National Lacrosse League!

Despite the loss, it was great to get my first game in the books as the new Halifax Thunderbirds Public Address Announcer.

Halifax plays on the road this Saturday night against the Saskatchewan Rush at 9 our time.

The next Thunderbirds home game is Saturday, December 28th against the Albany Firewolves.
