Halifax Thunderbirds History Was Made On The Weekend

It was a historical night in Halifax on Saturday night as the Thunderbirds beat the Calgary Roughnecks 16-12 to win their first-ever home Thunderbirds playoff game in franchise history with a sold-out 10,595 crowd in “The Nest!”
Halifax now moves on to the National Lacrosse League Cup semi-finals to face the Saskatchewan Rush in an all-Canadian best of three series for an opportunity to advance to the NLL Finals!
Game 1 is being played here in Halifax this Saturday, May 3rd at 7:30 in “The Nest!”
Game 2 is Saturday, May 10th in Saskatchewan with Game 3 Sunday, May 11th also in Saskatchewan if necessary.
The atmosphere was electric on Saturday night with the crowd cheering and waving the 7th player towels, so let’s bring that energy back for the next round in the semis!
The other NLL semi-final series will feature Buffalo taking on Vancouver.
GO THUNDERBIRDS!
Meanwhile across town at the Wanderers Grounds 6,500 fans gathered for the Halifax Tides first ever Professional Women’s Soccer League game on a wet night. The Tides fell 4-1 to the Calgary Wild.
