Hockey Tournament Heads West

The Women’s World hockey Championship is Alberta bound.

Following the April cancellation of the 2021 IIHF Women’s World hockey Championship here in Halifax and Truro, Hockey Canada has announced Wednesday that Calgary will host the tourney this August 20th to 31st.

Ten teams from around the world will compete for Gold.

Good luck to our own Jill Saulnier of Halifax, Blayre Turnbull from Stellarton and Coach Troy Ryan of Spryfield!

  • Ian Robinson is a lifelong Bluenoser and has been on Nova Scotia radio since 1984. Since 1997, he has been the Public Address Announcer for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL with over 1,100 games announced, and since 2023, has been the Voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League in “The Nest.”
