Holiday Decorating HACKS!

It is THAT TIME OF YEAR!!

The time of putting more nails into walls, and standing on ladders to risk life and limb as you deck your house with lights and boughs of Holly, and fighting with your spouse as you put the lights on the tree only to realise you did them backwards and the plug-in is at the top instead of the bottom.

In other words…

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

OKAY, but honestly… it’s a lot of work. And if you have pets, or kids, or a job, or a life, or all of the above, then it can feel impossible to get everything done.

SO… how about a few hacks to make your decorating a little easier?

DECORATING HACK #1
Hang a garland with a curtain rod

This will make that garland hanging so much easier. Buy a tension curtain rod and tighten it to the width of your hallway or doorway. Then, drape a garland (or more than one), and add some string lights or ornaments for an extra festive look, if you want. Once your garland is decorated, just raise the rod up to your preferred height and tighten!

DECORATING HACK #2
String lights on your Christmas tree vertically

This is one of those holiday decorating hacks that you’ll wish you had thought of earlier, apparently (I haven’t ever tried it, but I am totally willing to this year!). Instead of wrapping lights around the tree in circles, string them vertically from top to bottom. Supposedly, this method takes way less time and is much easier to remove once it’s time to put the tree away.

DECORATING HACK #3
Hang string lights on the inside of windows

Even Clark Griswold would love this one! Instead of stringing lights outside of your home, why not hang them inside the window using command hooks? The result will look similar from the outside, and it’ll save you from having to risk climbing on the roof.
