It’s Fruit Fly Season Again

If you’re like me and you open the green bin under the sink these days, you get a cloud of fruit flies coming out! Here are a few tricks to try and get rid of these August pests: Start by deep cleaning your kitchen and throwing out any rotten food to cut off fruit flies from their food source and prevent them from entering your home.
  • Throw out overripe produce.
  • Store fruits and veggies in the fridge.
  • Wash produce as soon as you get home to remove any potential eggs or larvae.
  • Take out the garbage regularly.
  • Try the apple cider vinegar in a glass with a plastic wrap trap or try wine in a glass with poked Saran Wrap.
  • Plus there’s the vinegar and dish soap trap.
