It’s The End of An Era on Quinpool Road in Halifax

McDonald’s on Quinpool Road closed back on Saturday morning at 4 am as they sold their last Big Mac and fries with a Coke.
On the way to Friday’s Halifax Mooseheads game I had my last Big Mac Meal to remember the restaurant that’s pretty much the same since the 80’s and 90’s.
I did a live remote broadcast on a Saturday in 1994 on then AM 92/CJCH to unveil the now famous Public Gardens mural and interviewed the artist who painted it, R.W. (Ray) LeFrense.
He told me a story about every person in the painting, there is a push to save the mural for the new locations down the way in the TED building 6302 Quinpool.
We took our sons Drake and Trent there a lot when they were little to get their Kids Meals Toys.
Drake would always order “a Hamburger with out the ham,” confused the heck out of the McD’s workers…
We made just a few 5 am coffee stops when Hot Country 103.5 was on Cogswell Street. ☕️
Thanks for the “McMemories” McDonald’s Quinpool Road!
