This Is National Blood Donor Week

We’re now half way through National Blood Donor Week that’s on this week until this Saturday, June 14th.

The week salutes blood donors across Canada with this year’s theme “Give Blood, Give Hope” highlighting the powerful act that a single act of a donation can have on someone’s life.

I’m O negative, that’s the universal blood type that any patient can use.

A couple of weeks ago I made O Neg donation number 60, since 2014, over at Canadian Blood Services on Bayers Road in Halifax.

Did you know each donation can save up to three lives? And up to 60 donations are needed to help someone after a serious car crash?

So a shoutout to my fellow blood donors here during National Blood Donor Week.

Here in Nova Scotia, we will need 7,180 blood donors over the summer, so, please consider booking your next appointment HERE.
