Moncton Born Calvin Pickard Is in the Stanley Cup Final With the Oilers

Calvin Pickard was born here in the Maritimes up in Moncton, New Brunswick, and now serves as the back-up goalie for the Edmonton Oilers.

His dad Dan worked with my neighbour Bruce back in the day.

At Bruce’s bar he is proud to display one of Calvin’s catcher goalie gloves from 2016 when he was then with the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche.

The glove is autographed from when he represented Canada at the World Men’s Hockey Championship and won Gold for Canada.

It’s a pretty cool piece of hockey memorabilia.

Calvin did see some action earlier in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tonight, the Edmonton Oilers play their first Stanley Cup Final game since 2006 when they went to Game 7 against Carolina who went o to win the Cup.

For the record, Edmonton has 22 Canadian players and Florida with 12.

Florida leads the series 2-0, so the Oilers must win, good luck to all in Oil Country from Moose Country!
