New Rule: Snow should be a winter sports prerequisite

With two Canadian Freestyle Skiers now out of the 2022 Beijing games with fallen injuries, it’s become time to lay down a new rule for the Games of Winter – actual snow is vital moving forward.

Who would’ve thought, right?

Elena Gaskell recently fell in training tearing her ACL and meniscus on Monday. Meanwhile, Justine Dufour-Lapointe went down on a run just a few days prior.

Now, were these spills a result of bad artificial snow? Well, that’s unproven.

If you’ve ever tried skiing on frozen water pellets (pretty much what fake snow is), you’d know though that’s not easy to cut the corners and the turns. A few things that are pretty essential when you’re on a mogul run.

Then, there’s this. Enough said.

Milan 2026, you’re on the clock. Please have snow ready. That’s all we ask.
