Nova Scotia’s Blayre Turnbull Scored Canada’s Goal In Homecoming

From the Rivalry Series last night in Halifax, Team Canada fell 2-1 in a shootout to Team USA in a very loud sold-out rink.
Many young female hockey fans with their teams cheering on their idols.
Halifax kept it classy by not booing the USA anthem and actually clapped after it. 11-year-old Emery Nelson of Hubbards belted out O Canada and pumped up the crowd!

Stellarton, Nova Scotia’s # 40 Blayre Turnbull scored Canada’s goal late in the 3rd, nearly blowing the roof off and was named Player of the Game for Canada.

It was a thrill for me to announce her goal.
Spryfield’s Troy Ryan Team Canada’s Head Coach was honoured in a pre-game ceremony. Pictures below.
The series is tied at 2 games and wraps up tomorrow, Saturday, February 8th with the 5th and deciding game in Summerside, PEI.
