Proposal to Transform Shannon Park Has Been Approved By Council

The proposed developed agreement for Shannon Park has been approved.

After a public hearing, the Harbour-East Marine Drive Community Council gave it the greenlight, yesterday.

Canada Lands Company, proposes the 85-acre former military land, be developed into a mixed-use urban community.

It would include:
– 3,000 residential units,
-23 new city blocks,
-145,000 square feet of commercial space
-7.5 acres of public park land, including a waterfront park
-on and off-street transportation trails and pathways,
-new public streets, municipal services (water and sewer)
-a transit hub

All to be constructed in four phases.
