Sir Paul McCartney Played Halifax Today In 2009

It was thirteen years ago tonight that Paul McCartney rocked the Halifax Common!

About 50,000 fans witnessed rock royalty that night singing his Beatles and Wings classics.

It was a perfect night with as Sir Paul said “A full moon over Nova Scotia!”

I was lucky enough to broadcast from the concert site all day leading up to McCartney taking the stage at 9pm.

Local openers were Above: Joel Plaskett and Wintersleep.

Paul McCartney stayed at the Lord Nelson on Spring Garden Road and it was Beatlemania in Halifax when he left the underground parkade!

A highlight of the night for me was when our 78th Highlanders Pipe Band joined him on stage for “Mull of Kintyre.”

Here are some more of my pictures from that special Halifax night!

Thanks a great night Sir Paul!
