Teen suffers life-threatening injuries in motorcycle crash

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Highway 7 in Westphal.

Halifax District RCMP say officers, fire, and EHS responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision near 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

They say a motorcycle had been travelling east on Highway 7 when it ran into the back of vehicle, which had stopped to make a left turn.

Police say a third vehicle then drove into the collision. Neither of the people in the other vehicles were injured.

Highway 7 was shut down for a number of hours while investigators were on the scene, but has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
