The 104 Is Now Twinned To Antigonish

If you’re travelling this long weekend to Antigonish or Cape Breton, you’ll notice the Trans Canada Highway has been twinned.

The highway between Sutherland’s River and Antigonish now cuts through a mountain.

This is the final stretch of the 38 kilometers of the twinning projects that has been going on over the last few years.

After over thirty plus years of making trips back and forth to The Cape, this was quite the change to experience on our recent trip to the family cabin in Dundee, Cape Breton.

No longer will drivers have to deal with that sharp turn by the Barney’s River Fire Station, however, the pretty view of the valley in that area, especially in the Fall, will be missed on the new route.

This new and improved highway will save lives, after many tragic accidents over the years.

Safe travels on the new twinned Trans Canada Highway 104.
