The Bluenose Marathon Is Back This Weekend

With the May long weekend this weekend, it means the traditional Bluenose Marathon is back in Halifax Dartmouth!

Saturday features the Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run for the kids followed by the main event on Sunday with the full and half marathons.

In all there are six running events with over one thousand volunteers helping them run smoothly.

The Bluenose was founded by Gerry Walsh and Rod McCulloch in 2004; it was a dream of theirs to bring a world class marathon to the cities.

During that first run there were 3,500 runners, in 2014 the biggest crowd took art as there were over 13,000.

The forecast for Saturday calls for Sun and 13 degrees for a high, then showers and 13 on Sunday.

Expect some street closures over the weekend, for more information click HERE.

On your mark, get set: Let’s Giv’er!

Have a great marathon!
