The Bluenose Marathon Is Back!

The Bluenose Marathon returns this weekend.

Before the pandemic the event was normally held on the May long weekend.

There are various running events: the 5KM, 10KM, half marathon, full marathon, marathon team relay, youth run-4KM and 2KM.

The youth run will take place this Saturday, with the main event on Sunday with the help of hundreds of volunteers.

They will follow all public health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols and will be requiring proof of double vaccination for anyone 12 and over for all races.

Proof of vaccination will be required at kit pick up.

  • Ian Robinson is a lifelong Bluenoser and has been on Nova Scotia radio since 1984. Since 1997, he has been the Public Address Announcer for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL with over 1,100 games announced, and since 2024, has been the Voice of the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League in “The Nest.”

    Spending time with his wife and two boys is his favourite thing to do.
