See The Halifax Mooseheads New “History Starts Here” Wall!

As you enter the Halifax Mooseheads front office on Brunswick St. there’s a new “History Starts Here” wall.

The wall features so many memories since 1994 here in Moose Country, here are just a few:

February 1998 during my first season in 1997-98. Jean-Sebastien Giguere’s #47 jersey was retired to the rafters. Giggy wore a cool black leather jacket, as we introduced him I played “Back In Black” by AC/DC, the fans went nuts!

Jason King’s 2001 5 goal night, his theme song was “King of My Castle” and Nate with the Memorial Cup May 26th, 2013 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

December 3rd, 2011 Nathan MacKinnons’s 5 goal game against Patrick Roy’s Quebec Ramparts and Konrad Abeltshauser holds the QMJHL President Cup on home ice beating Baie-Commeau 5-1 on May 10th, 2013. #Oowatanite!

Above, Ladislav Nagy with 71 goals! Jonathan Drouin CHL Player of the Year, Timo Meir with “Timo Time” at the Halifax Forum and Nico Hischier goes # 1 to the New Jersey Devils in 2017.

Above, a somber moment in 2011 honouring soldiers we lost and Nik Ehlers the 2014 CHL Rookie of the Year, now with the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets!

Above, Rocco with the first goal in franchise history in 1994, Kenzie Lalonde of eastlink interviews Xavier Parent after his 2019 playoff OT winner! She calls this a career highlight. Brandon Benedict was the hero at the Halifax Forum April 15th, 2003. Fans lined up for hours down Windsor and Young Streets starting by at least noon for the 7pm puck drop! Moosemania at its best! The rink was so loud that night with 5000 fans, I remember seeing dust fall from the rafters of the old barn. My second favorite game to announce, next to winning the QMJHL President Cup on home ice May 10th, 2013.

There’ve been so many memories since 1994 here in Moose Country and many more to come!

The Mooseheads play in Cape Breton tonight for a “Battle of Nova Scotia” against the Eagles. Go Moose Go!
