The Wild Stats From The Jays and LA 18 Inning Game

It was a game for the ages and a lot of lost sleep last night as the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers tied the record for the longest game in World Series history!

In a marathon ball game that tied the 2018 contest between the Dodgers and Boston Red Sox, LA beat the Jays in 18 innings, yes, 18 innings, it was like playing a double header!

A fun fact, Brad Paisley, who turns 53 today, sang the US national anthem for both of those World Series 18 inning games! A good trivia question.

And Toronto’s JP Saxe Sang O Canada that got a lot of online debate.

Some of the wild stats: the game took 6 hours and 39 minutes to play, it ended at 3:55 Atlantic time.

They used 44 players with 19 pitchers sent to the mound (a new World Series record) and had 609 pitches thrown! (another new World Series record)

The Dodgers took a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 tonight with Toronto’s Shane Bieber on the mound with Shohei Ohtani throwing the first pitch for the Dodgers just after 9pm Atlantic.

GO JAYS GO!
