Tim Hortons Brings Back Classic Treats

Tim Hortons is celebrating its 60th anniversary with Canadians and has some exciting plans to commemorate the big milestone, including the return of four retro donuts, but for a limited time! You can get reunited with the Dutchie, Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Sugar Twist and Walnut Crunch! They will be back starting a week from today, Wednesday, January 10th.

The first Tim Hortons restaurant opened on May 17th, 1964 in Hamilton, Ont., and is still serving guests all these many years later. Today, there are nearly 4,000 Tim Hortons restaurants here across Canada and more than 5,700 in total around the world – there are Tims restaurants in 18 other countries. The most recent new international market is South Korea where a Tims opened late last year. Tim Horton the founder and former NHL hockey player, in the off season worked construction, and when he wanted to take a break, he wanted a simple coffee and donut, but would have to go in to a restaurant to get what he wanted. That gave him the idea to start the first Tim Hortons coffee and donut shop. I can’t wait to try a Walnut Crunch again, that was a staple for me in the 90’s to have one before my radio show… Happy 60th Tims! -Ian
