Two teens plead not guilty in Truro hockey hazing case

Two 15-year-olds have pleaded not guilty in connection with alleged hazing incidents involving a hockey team in Truro.

According to the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service, the pleas were entered in court Monday afternoon.

RCMP originally launched the investigation after receiving a report on Jan. 30 that a youth had been assaulted during a private team gathering in October 2025.

Earlier this year, four youths were arrested in connection with the investigation. However, prosecutors later confirmed charges would only proceed against two of them.

The two youths facing charges are each accused of sexual assault with a weapon and two counts of sexual assault. One of the accused also faces an additional charge of assault with a weapon.

Police previously described the allegations as assaults committed under the guise of team initiation or bonding activities.

A trial date has now been scheduled for June 29.

Because the accused are youths, they cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
